Rambam for Friday, 30 Tishrei, 5785 - November 1, 2024

Rambam - Sefer HaMitzvos
As Divided for The Daily Learning Schedule

Positive Mitzvah 97

29 Tishrei, 5785 - October 31, 20241 Cheshvan, 5785 - November 2, 2024

This is not an error of duplication. The full-fledged version of this Mitzvah are many and change for those who are learning the one/three chapter a day. The Message for the day from "Bringing Heaven Down to Earth" at the end of this Mitzvah is different than that of yesterday.
Positive Mitzvah 97: Impurity of Creeping Animals
Leviticus 11:29 "These also shall be unclean to you among the creatures that creep upon the earth"

There are eight types of creeping animals listed in the Torah. Contact with their dead bodies makes one impure.

Do not be dismayed by the hypocrisy of others, nor by your own inconsistencies. Our lives are all journeys through hills and valleys -- no man's spiritual standing is a static affair. But the good each person achieves is eternal, as he connects to the Source of All Good, Who is infinite and everlasting. The failures, on the other hand, are transient and superficial, like shadows of clouds, as stains in a garment to be washed away.
